Ruth O. Pregenzer

Ruth O. Pregenzer is is a retired founding partner of Pregenzer, Baysinger, Wideman & Sale, PC. Ruth was a trial lawyer for 30 years, as an assistant state and federal public defender, with Miller Stratvert and most recently with Pregenzer, Baysinger, Wideman & Sale, where she practiced in the area of trust and estate litigation.

Ruth graduated from the University of New Mexico in English and Philosophy Summa Cum Laude in 1982. She graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law with her Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude in 1986. While in law school, she was awarded the Jerrold W. Walden Memorial Award, Honors in the Clinical Law Program, and was initiated into the Order of the Coif. She earned an LLM from Yale University in 1990. Ruth has a public interest background, having worked in both the State and Federal public defender offices. She was a clinical fellow in the clinical law program at the University of New Mexico School of Law, and an adjunct professor at the UNM law school teaching evidence and trial practice.

A fifth generation New Mexican from Carlsbad, Ruth loves to hike New Mexico’s mountains and spend time in its designated wilderness areas.
